Luxer One is one of the two locker brands a multifamily operator hears first, and one of the buyer prompts we track sums up why people search for its alternatives: “We have Luxer One lockers and they’re full every December.” Its record in our database describes smart package lockers, automated package rooms, refrigerated lockers and an on-site package concierge for multifamily, student housing and commercial property, from an ASSA ABLOY Group company based in Sacramento. Plenty of operators are happy with that. The ones who keep looking usually have a capacity problem, a PMS problem, or a renewal coming up and a wish to see what else exists. This page covers those reasons, the other vendors in our [package management category](/property-management-software/package-management/), and how to narrow them.

## Why buyers look past Luxer One

Credit first. Luxer One covers more of the package problem than most of its competitors: lockers, a package room for overflow, refrigerated units for groceries and a staffed concierge option. Its site also sells Flex Locker temporary expansions for peak delivery periods, which is a direct answer to the December complaint, and it lists Yardi, Entrata and RealPage integrations along with ConciergePlus and Secure FTP. If the problem is one bad month, ask about Flex Lockers before you switch.

The first objection is capacity. A fixed locker bank sized for an ordinary week overflows in the holidays and during move-in surges. Oversized deliveries are the other half of the problem; Luxer One’s own support FAQ says they can end up outside the locker area, at the leasing office, or back at the carrier’s facility. Some operators decide the answer is a different model entirely: an open package room, a staffed program, or an off-site service where packages never reach the building.

The second is the PMS. Luxer One’s integration list is Yardi, Entrata and RealPage. An operator on AppFolio, Buildium, Rent Manager or ResMan needs to check the list on every alternative, because automated resident registration from the PMS is what keeps the locker roster current when people move in and out.

The third is ownership and price. Luxer One does not publish a price, and neither do most of its competitors; [HelloPackage](/vendors/hellopackage/) is the exception, with CapEx for its package room starting under $15K. Parcel Pending by Quadient offers both purchase and subscription, which changes who owns the hardware at the end of the term. Consolidation also matters at renewal. Luxer One belongs to ASSA ABLOY, and Package Concierge is now a Parcel Pending by Quadient brand, so two of the names you might bid against each other share an owner.

We could not verify Luxer One’s contract terms, its fee structure, or how often its lockers fill at a property like yours, and the buyer forums we normally read were not reachable for this category. Ask for the set-up fee, monthly fee, contract term and storage-fee schedule in writing, and ask for package volume data from a reference property of similar size.

## The alternatives, by model

The table above carries the facts from our vendor database. They fall into three groups.

### Other lockers

[Parcel Pending by Quadient](/vendors/parcel-pending/) is the other big locker brand, with indoor, outdoor, refrigerated and oversize lockers, package rooms, a resident app and a manager dashboard at about 18,000 locations. It lists Yardi, Entrata, ResMan, Rent Manager and RealPage and sells by purchase or subscription. [Package Concierge](/vendors/package-concierge/), now one of its brands, charges no per-package fee: each property pays its own set-up fee, plus storage fees when a package sits past the normal pick-up window. [Smiota](/vendors/smiota/) sells lockers, outdoor units, package rooms and mailroom software, and its integration list of Yardi, Entrata, AppFolio, RealPage and Buildium is the one an AppFolio or Buildium operator should start with. [Package Nexus](/vendors/package-nexus/) makes indoor, outdoor and temperature-controlled lockers plus smart mailboxes, from San Diego. American Locker sells keyless smart parcel lockers with resident notifications and pickup codes. [Amazon Hub Apartment Locker](/ai-shortlist-index/package-management/amazon-hub-apartment-locker/) accepts deliveries from all carriers and retailers, offers 24/7 pickup and installs indoors or outdoors.

### Package rooms instead of lockers

These vendors replace locker doors with a monitored room, so ask how each handles oversized boxes and peak weeks. [Position Imaging](/vendors/position-imaging/) sells the Smart Package Room, an open room monitored by cameras and AI with QR-code pickup. HelloPackage verifies couriers at check-in, logs each delivery, notifies residents and gives them 24/7 code access. [ButterflyMX](/vendors/butterflymx/) is an access-control platform that also sells a package room product, and its PMS list includes AppFolio and Rent Manager, which suits an operator who already runs its intercom.

### Off-site and staffed programs

[Fetch](/vendors/fetch-package/) takes packages out of the building: residents ship to a Fetch facility and couriers deliver to the door on the resident’s schedule. It is the model the high-rise prompt in our set describes, from an operator who does not want packages coming to the building at all. Postal Solutions manages on-site package programs, logging packages, notifying residents and handling overflow alongside the locker system you already have. That makes it the one vendor here that works with your Luxer One lockers rather than replacing them.

## How to shortlist

Name the problem first. If it is peak overflow, price Flex Lockers, a package room and a staffed program against each other before buying more lockers. If it is the PMS, filter by integration list using the table and the [AppFolio](/property-management-software/integrations/appfolio/) and [Rent Manager](/property-management-software/integrations/rent-manager/) integration pages. Then ask every finalist the same questions. What happens to a package that does not fit, and where does it go? How does a carrier get into a locked building without a key? Does resident registration sync from our PMS, and does a move-out remove access without a person doing it? What do residents see when a notification fails, and who answers that call? Do we own the hardware at the end of the term, or is it a lease? The [glossary](/property-management-software/glossary/) covers the terms the finance side will ask about.

## What the Index shows

The table at the foot of this page, How the Index sees these vendors, carries each vendor’s numbers from the current edition of the [AI Shortlist Index for package management](/ai-shortlist-index/package-management/). Our reading is that ChatGPT treats Luxer One as the reference locker brand, putting it into answers even when the buyer is asking how to get away from a different vendor.

If Luxer One stays on the list, its [profile](/vendors/luxer-one/) holds the sourced record, and the [package vendor list](/property-management-software/package-management/vendors/) shows every vendor side by side. If the package decision is tied to the front door, the [multifamily access control guide](/property-management-software/multifamily-access-control/) covers the intercom and entry vendors, several of which share owners with the names above.
