2N makes IP video intercoms, access readers and indoor stations, and its footer says it is a member of the Axis group. For apartment buildings the pitch covers the front door, the hallways, the garage and the parcel room. Residents answer the door from the My2N app or an indoor station, and they can send guests and couriers a PIN or QR code for one visit or a recurring schedule. Keyless mobile access opens the front door, gym or pool. Gates open from the app or by licence-plate recognition with a connected camera. Elevators integrated with KONE take a visitor to the right floor. Property managers grant and revoke access to shared spaces from the My2N Management Platform, and 2N says devices keep working offline. In the [multifamily access control guide](/property-management-software/multifamily-access-control/) 2N is one of the intercom makers, and the facts panel below is rendered from our vendor database with a source and verification date on each entry.

## Who it fits

The database tags institutional multifamily and commercial facilities. 2N’s solution pages split into single-family homes, apartment buildings, retrofitting apartment buildings and offices, and the apartment page reads like it was written for a mid-rise or high-rise with a lobby, elevators, a garage and a delivery room. The buyer is an owner or developer who wants a hardware intercom with a credible cloud layer and is happy to buy through an installer. A property with old wiring has a dedicated retrofit page and a 2-wire indoor station in the catalogue, so ask the installer whether the existing cabling can stay.

It fits less well for an operator who wants lease-driven credentials across hundreds of communities, because 2N names no property management system connection.

## Pricing

2N publishes its cloud pricing, which is rare in this category. Most My2N features are free: site and user management, firmware updates, access data management, remote diagnostics and cloud calls between 2N and Axis devices. Calling from an intercom to a smartphone or tablet is where licences start. In a residential project each installation gets one free apartment licence, plus one more for every 2N indoor station installed, and one apartment licence covers up to four devices. Beyond that the list price is $44 per apartment per year, or $270 per apartment for ten years through the distribution channel. Commercial and mixed-use sites pay $31 per device per year, and calling is always paid there. The installation type is chosen when the site is created and cannot be changed later, so pick it carefully on a mixed-use building.

Run the numbers for your building. A 100-unit building with no indoor stations and every resident on the app needs 99 paid apartment licences, about $4,356 a year at list. Hardware prices are not published, so ask the installer for the intercom, reader and indoor station figures and for the margin they add on licences, which 2N allows resellers to set.

## Integrations

The database records no PMS integration and 2N’s apartment page names none. What it does name is building hardware: KONE elevators, connected cameras for plate recognition, home automation, and Axis devices on the same cloud. 2N also runs an Integration Hub and a developer portal, so a third-party connection may exist for your stack. Ask how residents are loaded into My2N, whether a CSV import or an API sync from your PMS, and who removes a resident at move-out.

## Limitations and questions to ask

Ask what the offline mode covers, which credentials keep working and for how long. Ask how many residents will use the app instead of an indoor station, since that drives the licence count. Ask who buys and renews the licences, you through the installer or residents by credit card in the My2N portal, and what happens to calling when a licence lapses. Ask how a resident without a smartphone gets in; Washington’s ESSB 5937 requires a non-app key on request from January 2027. Ask who services the hardware and what the warranty covers.

## Alternatives

Every vendor in the category is on the [multifamily access control vendor list](/property-management-software/multifamily-access-control/vendors/) with the same sourced facts. [Akuvox](/vendors/akuvox/) is the closest match, another intercom maker with a resident app and a 2-wire retrofit line. [Aiphone](/vendors/aiphone/) is the long-standing hardware brand with its IXG Series. [Swiftlane](/vendors/swiftlane/) sells video intercom and face recognition to small and mid-size apartment buildings with three PMS integrations. [Comparing ButterflyMX and its alternatives](/property-management-software/multifamily-access-control/butterflymx-alternatives/) is the page to read for the platform vendors.

## Is this your company?

2N has not published its property management system integrations on any page we could verify, so this profile turns those into questions for the buyer. If you work at 2N, claim the profile and add them. Your answers appear as a labeled vendor-supplied section with your verification date; the sourced facts and the Index numbers stay as measured.
