Kastle Systems sells security as a managed service. Rather than handing a property a system to run, Kastle designs, installs, operates, monitors and maintains access control and video surveillance as a long-term engagement, with live remote monitoring around the clock. For apartments the offer is smartphone access from the garage and elevator to the fitness centre and the unit door, the KastleVideocom intercom, cloud video, AI-enabled video guarding and remote video patrols, and visitor registration that lets residents grant access to guests and deliveries. Its multifamily page also promises resident enrolment and deactivation tied to the lease. In the [multifamily access control guide](/property-management-software/multifamily-access-control/) Kastle is the outsourced option, and the facts panel below is rendered from our vendor database with a source and verification date on each entry.

## Who it fits

The database tags institutional multifamily, student housing, HOA communities and commercial facilities. Kastle’s site has separate pages for apartment buildings, condominiums and HOAs, and student housing, alongside commercial real estate, offices, education and government. The buyer is an owner or operator who does not want to staff security technology in-house: a portfolio of mid-rise and high-rise buildings with garages, amenity floors and front desks, where the cost of guards and the risk of a breach both weigh on the budget. Kastle pitches its AI video guarding and remote patrols as a way to augment or replace on-site guards.

It fits less well for a small owner who wants to buy hardware once and manage it from an app, or for a garden-style community whose main need is a gate.

## Pricing

Pricing is not published. Kastle describes design as free and the rest as an ongoing service, so expect a quote built around your doors, cameras and monitoring hours rather than a per-unit list price. Ask for the monthly service fee and what it covers: hardware, installation, monitoring, maintenance, repairs and replacement. The KastleVideocom description says repairs, support and replacement are included, so confirm that in the contract for every device. Ask for the term length, the escalator on renewal, and what you own at the end. Ask what happens to the readers and cameras if you leave, since Kastle says it builds Kastle-specific integration into the readers, cameras and other hardware it partners on.

## Integrations

Kastle publishes product pages for two PMS integrations, Yardi and RealPage (its 2019 RealPage announcement names OneSite), and describes both as direct access control software integrations: lease activation controls unit, parking, gate and amenity access, and a lease expiration deactivates the resident’s credential property-wide. KastleVideocom’s resident directory syncs with property management tools and Kastle’s access system. Beyond the PMS, Kastle’s partner page lists tenant experience platforms (HqO, Rise, CBRE Host), lock and reader makers (HID, Allegion, Salto), elevator makers (Otis, KONE, Schindler and others), and identity systems such as Okta and Active Directory.

Ask which Yardi and RealPage products the integration supports, how often it syncs, and whether vendor and self-guided tour access come from the same feed. If you run Entrata, AppFolio or ResMan, ask directly, since Kastle names none of them.

## Limitations and questions to ask

Ask what the 24/7 monitoring means in practice: who watches, what triggers a call, and what Kastle does when it sees an incident at 3 a.m. Ask what the system does when the building’s internet fails. Ask how residents without smartphones enter; Washington’s ESSB 5937 requires a non-app key on request from January 2027. Ask about camera privacy in common areas and who can see footage. Ask how fast a failed reader or intercom is fixed and whether that speed is in the service agreement.

## Alternatives

Every vendor in the category is on the [multifamily access control vendor list](/property-management-software/multifamily-access-control/vendors/). [Verkada](/vendors/verkada/) is the closest comparison on scope, cameras and access in one console, but you run it and pay published hardware prices plus licences. [Brivo](/vendors/brivo/) is the cloud access platform with a Multifamily Edition and four PMS integrations. [SmartRent](/vendors/smartrent/) covers access and in-unit smart home together. [How the field compares against SmartRent](/property-management-software/multifamily-access-control/smartrent-alternatives/) places Kastle among the rest.
