LeaseTrack is a renters insurance compliance platform. When a resident buys a policy or uploads proof of coverage, the leasing staff gets a notification, and LeaseTrack then watches the policy, contacts the resident about lapses and renewals, and reports status back to the property. For residents who do not comply, it offers a tenant legal liability policy with the property as the insured, charged to the resident as a standard fee in place of a renters policy. The insurance itself is sold through BRP Effective Coverage, a licensed agency, and covers renters and manufactured homeowners. LeaseTrack’s own story page says it started in 2019 and is now a wholly owned product of MSI, the managing general agent. Within the [renters insurance programs category](/property-management-software/renters-insurance-programs/) it is one of the tracking-plus-backstop programs.

## Who it fits

LeaseTrack describes its customers as single-family and multifamily owners and operators, and our database tags single-family rental and institutional multifamily on that basis. The clearest fit is a Rent Manager customer. Rent Manager builds LeaseTrack into its resident portal and its rmResident app, captures the policy details on the tenant account, and lets the manager set the insurance requirement from inside Rent Manager. For that buyer there is no separate integration to buy or configure. Manufactured housing operators are the other natural buyer, since LeaseTrack offers HO7 policies for manufactured homeowners and MSI announced in September 2026 that it is taking the same embedded tracking model to manufactured home communities.

It fits less well for a manager on another PMS who wants a documented connection. LeaseTrack’s partner page talks about APIs and software partners but names none of them, and the only PMS partner its site names is Rent Manager; LeaseTrack calls itself Rent Manager’s preferred insurance partner.

## Pricing

LeaseTrack’s pricing structure is public, on Rent Manager’s renters insurance page. Tracking costs nothing extra. The master policy charges a flat fee per enrolled unit, and the manager can add a surcharge of up to $10 per unit, which Rent Manager presents as a way to offset the cost of the Rent Manager bundle. The per-unit master policy rate itself is not published. Ask for it, and ask whether it changes with the share of units that end up enrolled. Ask whether the surcharge is legal in each state you operate in; Rent Manager’s own footnote tells managers to check local and federal law first. Ask what the resident pays for an HO4 policy at your required limits, since the Rent Manager page lists liability from $100,000 and personal property from $10,000.

## Integrations

The database records one PMS integration, Rent Manager, sourced to Rent Manager’s page. LeaseTrack’s partner page says it has more than 25 integrated partners and refined its APIs over thousands of daily exchanges with software partners, but it does not name them. If you run Yardi, RealPage, AppFolio or another system, ask for the named connector, what data moves each way, and how often. Ask whether a move-out ends the master policy charge automatically, and whether a policy cancellation shows on the resident record the same day.

## Limitations and questions to ask

The master policy protects the property. A resident auto-enrolled in tenant legal liability has no coverage for their own belongings, and many will assume otherwise because they are paying a monthly charge with “insurance” in the name. Ask what notice the resident gets explaining that, and ask for the resident-facing wording. Ask for the liability limit and deductible on the master policy and who files and manages a claim. Ask how a third-party policy is checked, what happens when the property is not listed as an interested party, and how quickly staff learn about a cancellation.

The ownership question matters too. LeaseTrack is an MSI product, its site carries an MSI copyright, its insurance is sold through BRP Effective Coverage, and MSI describes itself as an indirect subsidiary of The Baldwin Insurance Group. Ask which entity you contract with, which carrier backs the master policy, and whether anything in the program changed when LeaseTrack became an MSI product.

## Alternatives

The [renters insurance vendor comparison](/property-management-software/renters-insurance-programs/vendors/) lists every vendor with the same facts. [MSI](/vendors/msi/) is LeaseTrack’s parent and sells tenant legal liability and renters insurance through other proptech partners as well. [Beagle](/vendors/beagle/) is the obvious head-to-head for a Rent Manager shop, with policy verification and automatic enrollment. [Sure](/vendors/sure/) pairs its own policy monitoring with tenant legal liability and names AppFolio, Yardi, RealPage and Buildium connections. The [roundup of renters insurance alternatives](/property-management-software/renters-insurance-programs/jetty-alternatives/) covers the rest of the field.
