Residents use the app for video calls from the intercom, remote entry, mobile credentials and guest passes; managers and residents can issue delivery, temporary and recurring passes. Managers get a web dashboard with activity history. In March 2026 the platform added support for select Schlage in-unit smart locks with offline capability, through integrations with Allegion and RemoteLock, which lets one app run from the community gate to the apartment door. Chamberlain says myQ Community serves more than 14,500 communities and three million residents. The site has separate pages for property managers, HOA boards, developers and architects, security integrators and school administrators, and its industry pages include multifamily, gated communities and student housing. The clearest fit is a gated community or garden-style property where the gate is the main access point and LiftMaster operators are already on it, or a developer specifying gate, door and intercom hardware from one manufacturer. An HOA board that wants video calling, remote entry and guest passes without a property management company running the system is a second fit. It fits less well for a high-rise that needs elevator control and dense unit-door coverage from one platform, though the Schlage lock support narrows that gap. Ask for a reference property that matches your building type. ## Pricing Pricing is not published. myQ Community is sold by subscription, with a Basic tier (access history and remote unlock) and a Premium tier that adds video calling, mobile credentials, mobile guest passes, property announcements, admin door override, Siri voice control, garage door control and history with video clips. myQ advertises free LiftMaster hardware for properties that switch to Premium, subject to qualification. The page for security integrators pitches it to dealers as a “subscription-based access control solution,” so expect the dealer to have a stake in the subscription as well. Ask who pays the subscription, the property or each resident, and the price per unit or per user at each tier. Ask what the hardware offer requires in return, whether a term commitment or a minimum number of Premium units, and what happens to the hardware if you leave. Ask the dealer for installation, service and their own monthly fee separately from myQ’s. ## Integrations The database records three PMS integrations: Yardi, RealPage and Entrata. myQ’s integrations page says all contacts are imported from the PMS with automatic updates for move-ins and move-outs, every 15 minutes for Yardi and every 5 minutes for RealPage and Entrata. A 2022 press release described the Yardi Voyager sync as every five minutes; the current page says 15, so ask which applies to your account. Ask what the sync carries beyond names and units, whether guest passes and vendor access come from it, and how fast a move-out disables a credential at the gate. ## Limitations and questions to ask Ask what the gate does when the controller loses its internet connection, and whether residents can still get in with a fob or code. Ask how residents without smartphones use the intercom; Washington’s ESSB 5937 requires a non-app key on request from January 2027. Ask who services the hardware, Chamberlain or the dealer, and how fast a failed gate operator is repaired.
