OBE Power owns and operates EV chargers at other people’s properties. It installs the stations, pays for them, maintains them, and runs them under what it calls charging-as-a-service, with no upfront, operational or hidden cost to the property owner. Residents charge through the OBE Power app, and the owner watches usage, energy consumption and carbon credit income in the OBE Power Host Portal. Its homepage claims more than 200 properties, more than 35,000 drivers and 200,000 charging sessions delivered to date. In May 2026 ChargePoint announced it would be OBE Power’s exclusive technology provider for about 2,500 multifamily charging ports starting in 2026, extending a relationship that had covered hotels. In the [multifamily EV charging guide](/property-management-software/ev-charging-for-multifamily/) it sits with the vendors that remove capital from the decision, and the facts panel below is rendered from our vendor database with a source and verification date on each entry.

## Who it fits

The database tags institutional multifamily, HOA communities and commercial facilities. The residential page says there is no cost to property owners or HOAs, and the homepage lists workplaces, hospitals, universities and cities as well. The buyer is an owner who wants chargers as an amenity, has no budget line for them, and is happy to let a third party own the equipment and the resident relationship at the charger.

It fits less well for an owner who wants charging revenue as an income line, since the page offers carbon credit income rather than a share of what residents pay, and for one who wants to pick the hardware.

## Pricing

The owner pays nothing up front or ongoing, according to OBE Power’s site. The ChargePoint announcement says OBE Power covers energy cost reimbursement, carbon credit revenue, maintenance, insurance and repairs at no cost to the landlord. Energy cost reimbursement means the property’s electricity for charging is paid back, so ask exactly how: metered per station, at what rate, and how often. Ask what share of carbon credit income the property receives and how it is calculated. Ask what residents pay per session or per kWh and who sets it. Ask for the term, the renewal terms and what happens to the chargers at the end.

## Integrations

The record names no PMS integration, and neither page mentions one. Residents pay OBE Power through its app, so in most setups nothing touches the rent ledger. Ask whether that is true at your property, how a resident-only rate is set up, and how a move-out removes a resident’s access. Ask whether the Host Portal can export usage by station for your energy reporting.

## Limitations and questions to ask

The property gives up control in exchange for no cost. Ask what the agreement says about parking spaces: how many are dedicated to charging, whether they can be resident-only, and who enforces it. Ask whether the agreement transfers to a buyer if you sell. Ask how OBE Power handles electrical capacity and whether it pays for any service upgrade. Ask how fast its technical team responds to a failed charger in your city, since its site promises quick deployment for repairs without a number. Ask how the city ordinance work it advertises is handled and whether your staff signs anything.

## Alternatives

The [EV charging for apartments vendor list](/property-management-software/ev-charging-for-multifamily/vendors/) shows every vendor’s model side by side. [EVPassport](/vendors/evpassport/) also covers the capital but charges a monthly subscription and shares the majority of revenue with the property. [Blink Charging](/vendors/blink-charging/) owns and operates DC fast chargers for hosts under one of its four models. [Loop](/vendors/loop-global/) sells hardware the owner buys. All of them sit on [the ChargePoint alternatives table](/property-management-software/ev-charging-for-multifamily/chargepoint-alternatives/).
