PayYourRent is an online rent payment service from Knoxville, Tennessee. Residents pay by ACH, credit or debit card, on the web or in a mobile app, and their payments are reported to Equifax, Experian and TransUnion to build credit history. Managers get same-day payment processing, rental applications, resident screening, maintenance requests and announcements in the same account. The site claims more than 500,000 resident accounts, more than $2 billion in rent payments and more than 2,500 manager accounts, and it publishes a case study with Mark-Taylor Residential. In the [rent payments category](/property-management-software/rent-payments/) it is one of the few vendors that publishes prices for both the five-unit landlord and the operator with hundreds of units.

## Who it fits

The database tags single-family rental, small multifamily and institutional multifamily, following its three plans: one to five units, six to 50 units, and more than 50. The small landlord gets an inexpensive way to collect online without a PMS. The larger operator gets a $0 monthly fee and an integration into Yardi, ResMan or Rent Manager, and resident credit reporting as a benefit to market.

It fits less well for an operator on AppFolio, Buildium or Entrata, which the site does not list. It also fits less well for anyone who needs cash or wallet payments; the site names ACH and cards.

## Pricing

PayYourRent publishes its price list, discounted by unit count. The Rental Plan is $9.95 a month for one to five units, with one ACH transaction a month included and $2.50 per ACH after that. The Landlord Plan is $19.95 a month for six to 50 units, with ten ACH transactions included and $2.50 per ACH after. The Corporate Plan is $0 a month for 50 or more units, with the ACH fee quoted by phone. All plans have no setup or PCI compliance fees, resident-paid card convenience fees, same-day processing, and the ancillary features. A custom theme is a $100 optional setup fee.

Ask for the Corporate Plan’s ACH fee in writing, since that is the whole price at scale. Ask what the resident pays in card convenience fees and whether the ACH fee can be passed to residents. Note the funding exception on the homepage: because of fraud, PayYourRent says it may hold funds for four to five business days for accounts set up as sole proprietorships, instead of next-day funding.

## Integrations

The database lists Yardi, ResMan and Rent Manager, shown under “We Integrate into Property Management Software” on the homepage, alongside AMSI and Valence. If your PMS already offers its own resident payments, ask what PayYourRent adds: the credit reporting, the fee structure, or the resident app. Ask how a payment posts to the ledger, how quickly, and whether a returned ACH reverses automatically in the PMS.

## Limitations and questions to ask

Start with credit reporting. Ask whether reporting is automatic for every resident or opt-in, whether residents pay for it, and whether late payments are reported too, since a resident who expected credit building may not expect a negative mark.

Then ask about controls. Ask whether you can block partial payments, block payments after an eviction filing, and set a cutoff date.

Then ask about the age of the integrations. The integration logos on the homepage date from 2017 uploads. Ask which integrations are live today and request a reference on your PMS.

## Alternatives

The [rent payments vendor list](/property-management-software/rent-payments/vendors/) compares the category on the same facts. [PayRent](/vendors/payrent/) also publishes plans for small landlords and offers free rent reporting. [Baselane](/vendors/baselane/) bundles rent collection with banking and bookkeeping on a free plan. [Zego](/vendors/zego/) adds credit reporting to payments for operators on six PMS platforms.
