Stake Saver

Website

Stake is a renter rewards company that sells property operators a resident benefits package called Stake Saver. Residents earn cash back and build credit, and the property shares revenue from credit and debit card rent payments. Underneath sits a consumer product: a checking account held at Midland States Bank, Member FDIC, a debit card, early paycheck access through Pinwheel, and merchant rewards. Stake says it is a financial technology company and not a bank. Among the [resident benefits platforms](/property-management-software/resident-benefits-platforms/) it is closer to a rewards network than to a managed package of filters and insurance. The facts panel below comes from our vendor database, with a source and a verification date on each entry.

## Who it fits

The database carries no segment tags for Stake, because the site does not state one. What the site does show is apartments. The listings on its pages are communities in the Dallas area, the move-in cash program runs in Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio, and the operator lead form asks for company and unit count. Read that as an apartment operator, most likely in Texas, who wants a resident perk that pays the property instead of costing it.

It fits less well for a single-family manager looking for a managed bundle with filter delivery, a liability policy and a move-in concierge. Stake sells none of those. It also fits less well for an operator who wants rewards to arrive as statement credits or points, since Stake pays cash into its own account.

## Pricing

Stake Saver pricing is not published. The model the site does describe is a revenue share: Stake says it shares revenue with the property on credit and debit card rent transactions. A separate listings and renewals program for operators states $0 platform fee to the property, with cash back, credit building and a locator team included. On the resident side, cash back on rent is $10 for each qualifying month, up to $120 a year, and Credit Builder has no enrollment or monthly fee on the Unlimited tier. Ask what Unlimited costs the resident, what the property’s share of card revenue is, how it is paid, and whether residents who pay by ACH generate any revenue for you at all.

## Integrations

The record lists no PMS integration, and the site names none. The revenue share page says “seamless integration” and “no lift for community managers” without saying with what. That leaves the mechanics as demo questions. Ask how a payment made through a Stake account posts to your rent ledger, which systems you would connect, and what happens when a resident pays part of the rent through Stake and part through your portal. Ask how on-time status is confirmed for reporting, since Stake reports only rent paid through Stake.

## Limitations and questions to ask

The product works only if residents move their rent into a Stake account. Cash back requires full, on-time rent paid through Stake, and the credit reporting covers payments made through Stake. Ask what enrollment looks like at a community like yours after six months. Ask whether a resident can earn without opening the checking account. Stake reports on-time payments to Equifax, Experian and TransUnion and never reports a late one, so ask whether that matches what you want from a credit program. Stake’s own footer says feature access depends on membership tier and property participation, so get a written list of what your residents will see.

## Alternatives

The [resident benefits vendors table](/property-management-software/resident-benefits-platforms/vendors/) lists the whole category. For rent rewards sold straight to residents, [Bilt Rewards](/vendors/bilt/) is the closest consumer comparison. [Piñata](/vendors/pinata/) pairs rewards with tri-bureau reporting and is also sold inside other vendors’ packages, and [Paylode](/vendors/paylode/) runs merchant-funded perks for institutional operators. The page on [Piñata alternatives for rewards and reporting](/property-management-software/resident-benefits-platforms/pinata-alternatives/) compares all of them on the same sourced facts.
