VERO is a multifamily applicant screening and risk platform. The record describes identity, income, credit and criminal checks with document fraud detection built on OCR and machine learning, and then three products that no other vendor in the [tenant screening category](/property-management-software/tenant-screening/) attaches to the screening result: a deposit alternative, loss-of-employment insurance and a guarantor product. The research notes also record Fraud Shield and VERO Copilot as products under the same brand. The idea is that the screen and the thing you do about a marginal screen come from the same vendor. The facts panel below is rendered from the vendor database with a source and verification date on each entry.

## Who it fits

The record tags institutional multifamily only, and the site names Gables, Camden, Asset Living, Venterra and Quarterra as customers. The buyer is a centralized leasing or revenue lead on Yardi, Entrata, RealPage or Rent Manager who wants one platform for the application, the fraud check and the conditional approval, rather than a screening module plus a fraud specialist plus a separate deposit-alternative provider. The risk products are the reason to choose VERO over a pure screening vendor; if you do not want them, the comparison is with Findigs and Snappt on screening alone.

It does not fit the independent landlord or the small manager. There is no published price and no per-report purchase in the record, and the per-report products cover that buyer.

## Pricing

Pricing is not published. Ask for the per-applicant or per-unit rate for screening, the monthly minimum and the contract term. Then ask separately how each risk product is priced and who pays for it, because a deposit alternative, a loss-of-employment policy and a guarantor are usually resident-paid products with their own fees, and the operator’s share, if any, is a question to settle before the demo ends. Ask whether the screening price changes when the risk products are attached.

## Integrations

The record lists Yardi, Entrata, RealPage and Rent Manager, sourced from VERO’s own site. Rent Manager is the one that reaches below the institutional tier, and it is the same pairing Payscore and Rent Butter list. Ask where the result lands in each system, whether the risk product an applicant accepts is written back to the lease record, and how the deposit alternative shows up in the ledger. The [Yardi](/property-management-software/integrations/yardi/), [Entrata](/property-management-software/integrations/entrata/) and [Rent Manager](/property-management-software/integrations/rent-manager/) integration pages list the other vendors on each platform.

## Limitations and questions to ask

Start with the document check. AI and OCR document fraud detection examines the uploaded file, and the record does not describe reading income from a payroll or bank source. Ask whether a source path exists, what triggers it, and what the leasing agent sees when an OCR ruling of edited meets an applicant who says the document is real. Ask for the false-positive rate on an applicant mix like yours and how a disputed ruling is reviewed.

Then the conditional approval. When a marginal screen is answered with a guarantor or a deposit alternative, ask how that offer is made, whether it is made to every applicant in the same band, and how the product documents that. That is a fair-housing question as much as a product question, and your written criteria and counsel should settle it before the feature is switched on. Deposit alternatives and loss-of-employment insurance are regulated differently by state, so ask which states each product is offered in and who the carrier is.

Then the records. Ask who supplies the criminal search, how it is filtered for the jurisdictions you operate in, who maintains that filter, and how a record that should have been excluded is caught. Ask who the consumer reporting agency is, who issues the adverse-action notice when a VERO result drives a denial, and how an applicant disputes it. Ask how a thin-file applicant with income and no credit history is scored, since the operators in our research describe improvising around that case with a double deposit, which is the exact gap the deposit alternative is meant to fill.

## Alternatives

The [full tenant screening vendor list](/property-management-software/tenant-screening/vendors/) compares all nine vendors with the same facts. [Findigs](/vendors/findigs/) is the other application-to-decision platform, with AI underwriting against a custom policy and a wider segment tag that includes single-family, student and affordable housing, though its record names no PMS. [Snappt](/vendors/snappt/) is the document fraud specialist an operator adds to the PMS module without changing the rest of the application flow, and [Payscore](/vendors/payscore/) is the source-first income verification alternative with the same four systems in its record plus ResMan and Rentvine.

## AI visibility

The AI Shortlist Index will measure tenant screening when a prompt set for the category is approved, and the VERO row will appear here from that edition on.
