Category Intelligence Brief: What AI Answers Say About Your Software Category

Short answer

  • $147, one time. A founding pilot price for one category-wide report. There is no subscription and no checkout: send the form and Ryan replies with an invoice.
  • It reads the answers themselves. The report covers what the answers said about each vendor, who they recommended it to, and what they got wrong against our sourced vendor record.
  • Every buyer gets the same report. It is about the whole category, with no recommendations for your company, and buying it never changes a row in the AI Shortlist Index.

The Category Intelligence Brief is a report on one property management software category, built from the answers behind the AI Shortlist Index. It shows what the answers said about each vendor, what they got wrong, and which sources sat behind them.

It costs $147 as a founding pilot. The first edition covers Maintenance & Vendor Network Software.

Who is the Brief for?

Marketing, demand generation and competitive intelligence leads at property-ops software vendors. It suits a team that wants the evidence on its whole category and will decide for itself what to do next.

What’s in the Brief?

  1. Scope and method. The category, the prompts, the engines, the run counts, the dates and what wasn’t measured.
  2. What the answers said about each vendor. The reasons given, who each vendor was recommended to, and the wording used.
  3. What the answers got wrong. Claims about pricing, integrations and fit, checked against our sourced vendor records.
  4. The full prompt grid. Every prompt against every vendor, so you can see who owns which kind of question.
  5. Source patterns. Which types of source sat behind which vendors, with any WebPossible site flagged.
  6. Category observations. Three to five, each labeled verified, inferred or hypothesis.
  7. A data export. The prompt, vendor, excerpt and source records as a spreadsheet.

What does the free Index already show?

The free Index shows most of the numbers. The Brief adds the reading and puts the data in one place.

Free Index Brief
Mention rates and ranks Yes Yes
Prompts that named a vendor One vendor at a time Every vendor, in one grid
Cited sources Yes Grouped by type and vendor
What the answers said about a vendor No Yes
Errors against the vendor record No Yes
Spreadsheet export No Yes

What does the answer text add?

An Index row records that a vendor was named. The answer gives a reason. In one October 2026 answer about replacing Latchel, ChatGPT listed Vendoroo as “Best for automating the broader maintenance process”.

Across a category, those lines show what each vendor is known for and where the description is out of date.

What doesn’t the Brief include?

  • Recommendations for your company, site fixes, strategy calls or link outreach.
  • Any promise about rankings, leads or revenue.
  • Ongoing updates. You buy one edition.

Need hands-on work? The AI Visibility Audit and WebPossible’s other custom services are separate, and paying never changes a ranking.

How do you get it?

  1. Send the form below with your company and category.
  2. Ryan replies from ryan@webpossible.com with an invoice and a delivery date.
  3. The report arrives by email after payment.

What are the limits?

The first edition uses the October 2026 Maintenance & Vendor Network Software runs: 25 prompts, one run per prompt on ChatGPT and on Claude, 50 answers in all. One run is a first reading, and small differences between vendors can come down to one answer.

A citation shows a page an engine used. It doesn’t show why a vendor was named. The Index methodology covers the rest.

Questions

What does the Brief cost?

$147, one time, while it is a founding pilot. There is no subscription and nothing renews. Ryan sends an invoice after you request it.

Which categories are available?

The first edition covers Maintenance & Vendor Network Software. Pick your own category on the form if it's a different one, and Ryan will tell you when that edition can be ready before you pay anything.

Why pay when the Index is free?

Pay only if you need the answer text read and organized for you. The rankings, rates, prompts and source maps stay free, and nothing public moves behind the Brief.

Does buying the Brief change my Index row?

No. Paying WebPossible never affects Index placement. Buyers are measured by the same prompts and the same extraction as every other vendor.

Can you help us act on it?

The Brief stops at the evidence. If you want company-specific analysis or hands-on work, that is a separate engagement on the custom services page.
