Free AI Visibility Tools for Software Companies

These are the working files behind the AI Shortlist Index and the Shortlist Audit, published by WebPossible, the Index’s publisher, with no email gate. Each one does a job a property-ops software vendor can finish in an afternoon: find out whether a property manager who asks AI for software in your category hears your name, ship an llms.txt, add the structured data that says what you sell, and audit the rest yourself.

The four tools

Check whether AI recommends your software takes five prompts from the public prompt library, one of each type the Index measures, and walks through running them on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, three times each. You leave with a scored table of sixty rows and a reading of what the rows mean. It is the manual version of the Index, and it is the first thing to do before spending money on anything else on this site.

The llms.txt template is a complete file for a property-operations software vendor with every field marked, plus how to fill it in and what to keep out of it. Twenty minutes, one file at the root of your domain.

The schema markup templates are four JSON-LD blocks a B2B software site needs and most don’t have: Organization with sameAs, SoftwareApplication, FAQPage, and Product with Offer for the pricing page. Each comes with two sentences on where it goes.

The audit checklist is the self-serve version of the Shortlist Audit: entity consistency across G2, Capterra, LinkedIn, Crunchbase and the PMS marketplaces, extraction-ready owned pages, presence in the sources that get cited, crawler access, and measurement. One line per item, yes or no.

The prompts behind them

The prompts in the checker come from the public prompt library, 25 per category across six types, written the way a property manager asks and frozen per edition so a result from March can be compared with one from September. Each prompt carries an id. Cite it by id and version, “AI Shortlist Index Prompt Set v1.0, WebPossible,” and anyone can re-run exactly what you ran.

When the self-check is not enough

The tools tell you where you stand. If the checker says you are not named and the checklist turns up more gaps than you can close in a quarter, the Shortlist Audit runs the full 25-prompt set on all four engines, pulls your category’s source map, and hands back the cause and a 90-day fix. Paying for it never changes an Index row.
