Aptexx: Features, Pricing, Integrations & AI Visibility

Aptexx is a mobile-first resident experience app built around online and mobile rent payment. Its record lists card, mobile wallet, ACH, cash and PayPal Pay Later as payment types, with resident messaging, surveys, maintenance requests, package tracking and a dashboard around them. Its site calls its payments the industry’s leading online and mobile payment solution, which is the vendor’s phrase. In the rent payments category it is the vendor that sells payments as the center of a resident app rather than as a standalone collection platform.

Who it fits

The database tags institutional multifamily, and Aptexx’s site names property management companies as the buyer. The fit is an operator on Yardi or ResMan that wants the resident app and the payment rail from one vendor, and wants messaging, surveys and maintenance in the same login the resident uses to pay. A second fit is an operator that wants to offer Flex without adding another vendor relationship, since Flex’s own site names Aptexx as an integrated portal partner.

It fits less well for a single-family or small multifamily manager, and for an operator that has a resident app it likes and wants only a payments vendor, where a collection platform such as Zego or ClickPay is the more direct comparison.

Pricing

Pricing is not published; Aptexx sells through a quote or demo. Ask for the per-transaction fee on ACH, debit, credit, mobile wallet and cash, who pays each one, any platform or per-unit fee for the app itself, the minimum and the contract term. Ask separately what PayPal Pay Later costs the resident and whether the property pays anything for it, since it is a resident-side credit product inside the payment screen.

Integrations

The database lists Yardi and ResMan, sourced from Aptexx’s integration partners page. The research notes that the same page also names Carson and describes integrations with most core PMSs, so a manager on RealPage, Entrata, MRI or AppFolio should ask which of those are live rather than assume. The PMS’s own module is the context. On Yardi and ResMan the resident can already pay in the portal, so Aptexx’s argument is the app around the payment, the wider set of payment types, and the Flex option layered inside it. Limitations and questions to ask

Start with cash. The record lists cash as a payment type without saying how it is collected; ask whether there is a retail network, which one, and what the resident pays at the counter. Then ask about PayPal Pay Later. Ask who carries the loss if the resident does not repay PayPal, whether a Pay Later payment can be reversed against the property, and how it appears on the ledger.

Then ask about the app’s other functions. If maintenance requests come through Aptexx, ask how they reach the work-order module in the PMS and whether a coordinator sees them in one place. Then ask about the resident experience overlap. Aptexx competes with the resident app side of Zego, so ask what happens to messaging and surveys if you later change payments vendors, and whether the app can run without the payment rail.

Alternatives

Zego is the closest alternative, a payments layer and resident app sold together with the longest PMS list in the category. Flex is a different layer, a flexible-rent option that Aptexx already carries as a portal partner. The rent payments vendor list compares all eight vendors on the same facts.
