Domuso is a multifamily rent payment platform. Its record lists non-reversible Domuso Certified card payments, free ACH, credit and debit, mobile check and money-order scanning, MoneyGram cash, and payment centralization across multiple PMS platforms and ownership groups. Its site describes the certified payment as similar to a certified check, faster, more secure and fully digital, and aims it at move-in and delinquent balances where a reversed payment is expensive. That rail and the centralization pitch are what separate Domuso from the other collection platforms in the rent payments category.
Who it fits
The database tags institutional multifamily only, and Domuso’s own pages name the buyer as owners and operators, on-site teams and centralized accounts-receivable teams. The clearest fit is an operator that runs more than one PMS or more than one ownership group, usually after acquisitions, and wants one payments vendor across all of them. Domuso’s centralization page sells exactly that and says teams can spend up to six hours a month reconciling payments by hand. The second fit is an operator with a chargeback problem on move-in funds or delinquent balances, for whom the certified rail is the product.
It fits less well for a single-family or small multifamily manager, who is outside the segment tag, and for an operator on one PMS with one owner, where the centralization case is thinner and the fee question decides.
Pricing
Pricing is not published; ask for the per-transaction fee on ACH, debit, credit and the certified rail, who pays each one, any platform or per-unit fee, the minimum and the contract term. The record says ACH is free and that Domuso Rewards points come at no cost to the property; ask what the resident pays for a certified payment and whether the rewards program has a resident-side cost. Domuso’s site claims 30 percent fewer delinquent payments and 50 percent fewer non-digital payments. Those are the vendor’s numbers; ask for the portfolio and period behind them.
Integrations
The database lists Yardi and RealPage, sourced from Domuso’s centralization page. The research notes that a search result showed ResMan courses on Domuso’s training site, but that page was not fetched, so treat ResMan as a question rather than a fact. MRI, Entrata, AppFolio and Buildium are not listed. A manager on any of those should ask before the demo. The PMS’s own payment module is the alternative; on Yardi and RealPage the resident already has a way to pay, and Domuso’s argument is the certified rail, the cash and check conversion, and one vendor across systems. The Yardi integrations page and the RealPage integrations page list the other vendors on each platform.
Limitations and questions to ask
Start with the certified rail. Ask what makes a Domuso Certified payment non-reversible, what the resident is charged for it, and whether a property can require it for specific balances such as move-in or a delinquent account. Then ask about the paper path. Mobile check and money-order scanning still depends on the resident doing the scanning; ask what happens to the check that arrives in the office and whether there is a lockbox option.
Then ask about centralization in practice. Which fields sync in each direction for each PMS, how a payment posts when two PMSs carry different ledger structures, and what the reconciliation report looks like at month end. Then ask about rewards. Points at no cost to the property are funded somewhere; ask who funds them and whether the program changes the resident’s fee.
Alternatives
ClickPay sells consolidation across properties and a long list of PMS and association systems, and is RealPage-owned. Zego has the longest integration list in the category and a retail cash network. The rent payments vendor list compares all eight vendors on the same facts.
