Frontdesk is an AI front office sold by AI Front Desk, Inc. Its multifamily pages describe an agent that answers calls, texts, chats, emails, lead forms and ILS inquiries around the clock, qualifies prospects, books tours, follows up on no-shows, and also takes maintenance requests, renewals and collections, syncing to the property management system. The company is not multifamily-only. Its homepage sells the same platform to retail, therapy practices, real estate and other businesses, and multifamily is one of the markets it writes the most pages for. In the guide to AI leasing assistants it is the horizontal product, one platform sold to many kinds of business, and the facts panel below is rendered from our vendor database with a source on each entry.

Who it fits

The mid-market page names its buyer as an operator with 50 to 500 units across several communities, which it calls too big for voicemail and answering services. The database tags small and institutional multifamily, single-family rental, student housing, affordable housing and HOA communities, all from Frontdesk’s own pages, which also list build-to-rent, senior living, mixed-use, corporate and short-term rentals. That breadth is the pitch.

It fits a manager who wants one agent across many property types and PMS platforms, at a price that does not start with a sales call. It fits less well for a large operator who wants a vendor whose whole product and support team are built around apartment leasing.

Pricing

Frontdesk publishes a general plan, and nothing specific to multifamily. Business-in-a-Box is $99 a month, or $79 a month billed annually, with 200 voice minutes, 100 chatbot conversations, 400 SMS and 500 email drafts a month, plus overage credits. Partner and Enterprise pricing is custom and volume-based, with API access, custom integrations and a dedicated account manager. The multifamily page promises one price point with no per-channel surcharges and no enterprise minimums, but gives no figure.

Ask which plan multifamily customers are actually on, and how many voice minutes a 300-unit community uses in a typical month against the 200 in the base plan. Ask whether the PMS integrations require the Enterprise plan, how overage credits translate into dollars, and whether pricing is per community or per unit.

Integrations

The record lists nine PMS: Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, AppFolio, Buildium, ResMan, Rent Manager, MRI and Rentvine. The mid-market page goes further, naming Yardi Voyager and Breeze, RentCafe CRM, RealPage OneSite modules, Knock CRM, Entrata’s ELI+, AppFolio’s Realm-X, DoorLoop, TenantCloud, Funnel CRM and ServiceFusion, and calls the connections bidirectional. That is a long list for a company this broad, so test it. Ask the vendor to show a lead created in your PMS, a tour booked against real availability, and a maintenance request landing as a work order, live, on your system.

Limitations and questions to ask

Ask about depth before breadth. A platform that serves therapy practices and retail stores has to prove it knows leasing, so ask how it handles concessions, waitlists, affordable income limits and student-housing roommate matching.

Ask about fair housing. Ask how the agent answers accessibility, assistance animal and source-of-income questions, and whether those answers can be locked.

Ask about the handoff. Ask how leasing staff take over a live conversation, see the history, and pause the agent for a single prospect.

Ask about pricing data. Ask how often unit pricing and availability sync, and what the agent says when the PMS and the website disagree.

Alternatives

Every vendor in the category is on the AI leasing assistants vendors list. Respage is the other assistant that names AppFolio and MRI and describes its pricing model, flat rate for chat and per unit for the full assistant. BetterBot also reaches into student and affordable housing. Anyone Home pairs its AI with a human contact center. The EliseAI alternatives page lines up the rest.
